Uping its game for small businesses, Google is expanding its domain registration offering
Google Domains has just received a major “.upgrade”.
The search giant today announced that its domain registration service, initially rolled out last year to help small businesses build or improve their web presence, is now expanding to include personalized email addresses, over 90 new domain name extensions and more.
Ben Fried, Google’s Chief Information Officer, detailed the program’s latest growth spurt in a blog post this afternoon. He pointed out that personalized email addresses, such as sales@yourdomain, for example, are now available through Google Apps for work.

“Personalized email addresses are a key part of building your online identity,” Fried said. “Email addresses like you@yourdomain help you establish credibility when communicating with customers.”
People can reserve a personalized email address with Google Domains for $5 per month per user. In addition to a personalized work email address, they also have access to the business productivity suite of Google Apps for Work. This includes 30GB of cloud file storage, Google Hangout video conferencing, shared calendars, and a host of document creation and sharing tools.

Dozens of new URL endings, such as .account, .services, .legal, .kitchen, .social, .ninja and the list goes on. Google’s goal in releasing a new batch of web address endings is to further help SMBs better reflect who they are and what they do in their domain names so as to differentiate them from the competition and to amplify their brand image online.
“The new domain name endings provide more choice and flexibility when choosing a memorable address for your business website,” Fried said.
