ENS Bucks Market Trend Amid Domain Registration Deceleration – Here’s “How” https://atcardloan.com/ens-bucks-market-trend-amid-domain-registration-deceleration-heres-how/ Mon, 10 Oct 2022 01:31:21 +0000 https://atcardloan.com/ens-bucks-market-trend-amid-domain-registration-deceleration-heres-how/ Ethereum name service [ENS] recorded over 20% gains in the last seven days, moving away from the trend seen by most cryptocurrencies. Ethereum name service [ENS] recorded over 20% gains in the last seven days, moving away from the trend seen by most cryptocurrencies. Trading at $14.29 on October 3, the 98th-ranked cryptocurrency reached $17.63 on October 7.

Despite slight decreases, ENS still registered a price increase in the last 24 hours with a rise of 2.86%. According CoinMarketCapENS was trading at $17.46 at press time.

However, it wasn’t all green in the ENS ecosystem, as its volume had shrunk by 17.98% in the same time frame. Although the rise may have come as a surprise, some on-chain events may have contributed to the price rise.

Meet AMBCrypto Price prediction for ENS for 2023-2024

Hikes, hikes, and hikes possible

An evaluation of the on-chain event revealed that ENS development activity is increasing incredibly. Based on Saniment According to the data, ENS development activity, which initially dipped to 3,146 on Oct. 2, had been rising nonstop all week.

At the time of this writing, development activity was 6.86%. Thus, it seems that the ENS has doubled its commitment to the growth of its ecosystem.

Source: Santiment

Interestingly, its recent updates may have proven that the increase in development activity was no fluke. In a recent tweet, the ENS team noted that users can now pre-register domains and own them through the Apple iOS Wallet. Therefore, it could help to integrate more domain registrations and unique users.

The struggles still abound

When verifying domain registration data, Dune analysis revealed that the total number of names created was 2.86 million. These stats showed that the ENS had slowed down since hitting 2 million milestones in August. The deceleration was so obvious that even the ENS had reported a figure of 2.60 million on the last day of September.

At the time of this writing, the ENS had 578,856 participants. Of the 2.86 million registered names, 412,785 were main names, not subdomains. Interestingly, these numbers meant that the ownership dynamic had slowed considerably.

For October, Dune showed that there were 80,223 domains registered among 7,490 addresses. At the current pace, ENS may not be able to meet September numbers unless domain accumulation accelerates.

Source: Dune Analysis

On the four-hour chart, it was likely that the ENS would not hold the current greens for long. According to the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), the sellers (orange) were starting to take 0.36 above the sellers strength (blue) at 0.31. With the exponential moving average from 12 to 26 at -0.06, ENS might succumb to the demands of the bears.

The introduction of the .au namespace pitted state and federal government departments against each other as they competed for the same premium domain names.

Earlier this year, Australian web domain administrator auDA introduced direct .au domain names (e.g. http://www.crikey.au) to complement existing namespaces like .com.au or .org .to.

For the first six months of .au, auDA has offered individuals or organizations that already own domains in existing Australian namespaces the opportunity to apply for the .au version in priority. For instance, CrikeyThe Private Media publisher was eligible to bid on crikey.au due to its crikey.com.au registration.

More than 4 million .au domains have been registered so far, overtaking .net.au to make .au the second most registered Australian namespace in August.

Each .au can have multiple eligible registrants. Different parties may have registered the same domain on com.au and .net.au, for example.

So what happens when multiple eligible individuals or groups claim a .au domain? According to auDA: “Priority applicants will need to negotiate among themselves to determine who will be assigned the direct .au domain name for which they have applied.”

Crikey couldn’t help but notice that there are quite a few departments bidding for the same name, including:

treasure.au: the federal department, all states and territories except Victoria, and the owner of treasury.com.au (which is just a holding page at the moment) have applied.

arts.au: the Federal Department, NSW, Victoria, ACT, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania all applied, as did the owners of arts.net.au, arts.com.au and arts.edu.au.

health.au: the federal department, all states and territories except the Northern Territory and the owner of health.com.au applied.

education.au: the federal department, Victoria, Tasmania, NSW, South Australia, WA and ACT, and the owner of education.net.au applied.

It is up to the candidates to contact each other and find a solution. auDA said it would not step in and make a decision, but would simply hold onto the domain until others can resolve it.

Reasonable minds would assume that federal departments will eventually prevail. We’ll keep an eye on it.

Meanwhile, the .au namespace will be open for registration for everyone starting next week. And some cheeky domain registrars have already spotted opportunities for cybersquatting.

Crikey is short story for readers who can handle the truth.

Several members of Congress on Wednesday called on the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to do more to protect the privacy of domain registration information.

U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and U.S. Representative Anna G. Eshoo (D-Calif.) led a group of lawmakers in criticize the NTIA for failing to protect “highly sensitive” personal information used to register .US domains.

The records contain usernames, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.

Members of Congress said it was “very concerning” that the NTIA has not directed its contractors administering .US domains to enact protections for such sensitive information since at least 2005.

“Automatic public disclosure of users’ personal information puts them at increased risk of becoming victims of spoofing, spamming, spoofing, doxxing, online harassment, and even physical harm” , lawmakers said in a letter to NTIA Deputy Secretary and Administrator Alan. Davidson.

They also wrote that “anonymity is a necessary component of the American right to free speech.”

The NTIA did not respond to requests for comment.

The lawmakers claimed there was no reason for the information to be released publicly and suggested the agency automatically offer privacy for free upon registration.

The NTIA should also require users to provide affirmative consent “for the transfer of user data to third parties, including public disclosure,” the letter states.

Lawmakers say government entities, including in the United States, should be required to seek a warrant to request access to .US user data, and users should be alerted if such access is granted.

The letter argues that the government should set an example for the rest of the world by creating a “more secure and private system for registering Internet domains through its control of .US.”

Alongside Wyden and Eshoo, Senators Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) joined U.S. Representatives Ted Lieu (D-Calif.), Sara Jacobs (D-Calif.), Zoe Lofgren ( D-Calif.), Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), Tom Malinowski (DN.J.) and Stephen F. Lynch (D-Mass.) signing the letter.

The letter comes after several government agencies around the world have highlighted domain cybersecurity as a matter of concern in recent weeks as domain registrars have been hacked in the past.

A spokesperson for Wyden told The Record there was no international coordination on the announcements, but noted that it had been a long-standing concern among privacy experts.

Last year, a .US advisory body asked NTIA for increased privacy among .US domainsnoted the spokesperson.

“Within the larger framework of ICANN [International Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers] community, debates continue on how to protect the privacy of registrants,” the spokesperson said.

“This letter signals that Senator Wyden and other privacy leaders want to ensure that the interests of those who want to access this data do not outweigh the privacy rights of those who register domain names.”

Jonathan has worked around the world as a journalist since 2014. Before returning to New York, he worked for news outlets in South Africa, Jordan and Cambodia. He previously covered cybersecurity at ZDNet and TechRepublic.

Why is Space ID gaining so much popularity? What are the benefits of domain registration services? Learn everything you need to know in this article!

Successful launch for Space ID

Space ID, a universal name service that provides unique, human-readable domain names for use on multi-chain addresses, managed to register 55,000 unique users with 200,000 .bnb domain registrations within 24 hours following its launch.

With the penetration of Web3 services and blockchain technology, users have been burdened with multiple addresses and usernames on different networks. It becomes difficult for users to keep track of unique addresses and names.

Space ID solves this problem by providing a unique and easily human-readable name service. People want to identify themselves with names that can be easily recognized and not just a random string of usernames. Imagine trying to remember usernames on different channels such as Twitter, email, BNB ChannelSolana, Avalanche, etc.

Space ID helps by creating unique, unique and easy-to-remember names that can also be used to trade cryptocurrencies and Non-fungible tokens (NFT) and will be interoperable on different networks.

Some of the main benefits of a universal domain include the ability to easily establish a personal brand identity. Imagine you are looking for a unique name but find that it is already registered by another brand. Space ID solves this problem by ensuring a unique identity across networks. It will also allow the connection of identities of social media channels such as Twitter, GitHub and email addresses. The protocol’s software development kit (SDK) is easy to use and can be integrated in 30 minutes.

According reports, Space ID conducted a premium auction for 10 .bnb domains and successfully raised $670,000 in bids. A record 110 BNB was offered for the 000.bnb domain. The platform has received funding from Binance Labsthe venture arm of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.

Space ID has also established partnerships with many flagship projects such as Project Galaxy, DODO, STEPN, Trust Wallet, Chainlink, Ankr, CyberConnect, Mathwallet, SecondLive, Apeswap, NodeReal, Beefy, Galler, Project Twelve (P12) and Rareboard.

According to a Press release from Binance Labs, responsible for the growth of Space ID Solo said, “If having a recognizable identity isn’t really a need humans want, then everyone’s Twitter handle might as well be 40 meaningless characters, like a crypto wallet address. Yet we all choose to get a username that resonates with us. Why would it be different with your web3 identity? »

Although there are many Blockchain Naming Services (BNS) available today such as Unstoppable DomainsEthereum Name Service (ENS), Peer Name, Diode, Stacks, Emercoin and RIF, very few services are working towards single name and single service solutions.

Space ID could enjoy a first mover advantage and provide strong competition to other similar service providers such as Near Protocol and .Art platforms. Near offers a market for registering unique, human-readable names, but Space ID’s auction-based approach could help premium brands register domain names that are considered prime assets.

DUBAI, UAE / ACCESSWIRE / September 16, 2022 / GoDomains today announced the launch of blockchain-based domain registration services with .GO extension. With this, users could now register domains like liz.go, enterprise.go, etc.

GoDomains deploys suites of smart contracts on the XDC blockchain, functioning as distributed, open and extensible naming systems. Blockchain domain systems map human-readable names like “mike.go” or “xdc.go” to machine-readable identifiers for crypto wallets, digital identities, censorship-resistant websites, e -mails and storefronts metaverses. The Blockchain domain functions as a non-fungible token (NFT). However, unlike traditional domain names controlled by centralized entities, blockchain domain names are maintained by their owner, with a separate public ledger in the form of a smart contract.

A .GO domain extension offers a welcome alternative to the currently available list of domain extensions, which are more aligned with native blockchain typos. GO domains are easy-to-remember names resembling an abbreviated form of “global” ambition for their owners. Similar to “.com” The latest fever in cryptocurrency markets has seen buyers scoop up blockchain domain names, which are minted and sold as NFTs.

HOW DECENTRALIZED ARE GO DOMAINS?

GoDomains are fully decentralized, as the registry smart contract has no administrator, only the domain owner(s) or someone with their authorization can transfer or administer newly formed domains. Services are created using blockchain protocols and .GO domain addresses are hosted on the XDC network.

Prices

Currently in beta, GO Domain offers a host of attractive domain names that could be registered and later resold. The invitation price for domain name registration starts with 10 USD of XDC tokens. Depending on the number of characters, the prices keep increasing. Currently, users can register domain names in 3, 4, and 5+ letter extensions for a limited time only.

Several factors influence domain registration trends, including the latest developments in digital technology, world news, and current events. The WhoisXML API aims to stay on top of these trends, aided by our satellite view of the Domain Name System (DNS). We followed the digital fallout from the russian-ukrainian war two weeks into it and saw how the news was reflected in domain registrations. We also noticed that even the slapping incident at this year’s Oscars drove relevant domain records.

These are just a few examples of domain registration pilots we monitored earlier this year. For Q2 2022, we tracked the digital footsteps of six important drivers in our Q2 2022 Edition Domain Registration Trends Report. These domain registration stimuli can be categorized into Q2-specific and all-time domain registration drivers.

You can download the full report from our website. We have provided an overview of our analyzes and conclusions below.

Q2 Specific Domain Registration Drivers

Celebration Trends

The events that occurred in the second quarter of 2002 were Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, May 8 and June 19, respectively. We tracked related domains added throughout the quarter and noticed spikes in the week leading up to the events. These domains contained the strings “mother” and “father”, alongside “day”. The graph below reflects the trend.

We also looked at the trend of registrations for domains ending in .mom, and the spikes were quite significant. One happened the week before Mother’s Day, while the other happened in the week ending May 21.

News Trends

Another second quarter event was the offer to buy Twitter from Elon Musk and the latter’s subsequent acceptance of said offer on April 25, 2022. The news broke on the Internet and we felt the tremors in the DNS. Domain registrations containing Twitter and Elon Musk have increased significantly this week, as you can see in the following chart.

All-Time Domain Registration Drivers

Seasonal themes

We’ve been tracking domain registration trends related to tax season. Although it started as early as January 24, 2022 and the tax deadline was April 18, 2022, the number of new tax-related areas was higher in Q2 than in Q1. Overall, there seems to be a steady stream of domains registered for tax-related strings over the months.

World event themed inscriptions

The war between Ukraine and Russia has been going on since February, but domain registrations topped pre-war levels in the second quarter. As the war continues, other related areas may be added.

Blockchain Trends

We have been monitoring domain registrations related to cryptocurrencies since last year. In Q2, we added Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and Decentralized Financial Platforms (DeFi) to the list as these technological advancements have steadily become phenomenal. We have focused on areas of cybersquatting targeting the most popular cryptocurrencies, NFTs and DeFi platforms.

The first two weeks of the quarter accounted for most domain registrations. While registrations in the following weeks were erratic, nearly 1,000 new domains were still being added per week until volume began to decline in June.

Industry related records

We mapped the digital footprints of several industries, such as car dealerships and container shipping companies. Yet one of the most significant trends was the relentless threat of ecommerce cybersquatting domains.

In Q2, we found over 16,000 cybersquatting resources targeting some of the most visited online shopping platforms. Registrations consistently topped 1,200 domains per week from the start of the quarter through the first two weeks of June.

Malicious Properties Alert

Since domains and subdomains are among the main vectors for phishing, spam, scams and malware distribution, we also analyzed the misuse properties. Of over 54,000 properties under all record drivers, approximately 2% were malicious. Tax buildings accounted for more than half. The chart below shows how malicious properties were distributed across the six identified recording drivers for Q2 2022.

We will continue to monitor DNS for important domain registration drivers and perform further analysis and contextualization using our WHOIS, IP and DNS intelligence.

WILMINGTON, Delaware–(BUSINESS WIRE)–CSC, an enterprise-class domain registrar and global leader in domain and domain name system (DNS) threat mitigation, today released data from its global domain registration assessment since 2021 showing that 84% of domains related to infant formula were registered by third parties. The rise in fake registrations coincides with the turbulent supply chain issues the industry has experienced this year, and registration patterns show these domains are designed as vehicles to execute potential fraud and phishing attacks. . Check-in behavior is not limited to the infant formula market. A similar increase is also targeting commercial organizations and has occurred in the semiconductor industry, as CSC research shows that 95% of domains registered over the same period are linked to third parties. This assessment is part of CSC’s latest report, Where Domain Security Meets Supply Chain Crisis.”

CSC’s research team discovered disturbing trends when it assessed the security of branded web domains and key search terms associated with the infant formula and semiconductor industries. Between January 2021 and May 2022, CSC found that of third-party registered domains, 93% of infant formula-related domains and 79% of semiconductor-related domains include privacy services or have redacted WHOIS details. These are actions taken to conceal true identities and expose potential fake domain registrations and fraudulent activity. Additionally, 26% of infant formula-related domains and 44% of semiconductor-related domains are set up with MX email records, a key mechanism used to spread phishing emails.

“Companies need to understand how their choice of domain registrar affects their organization’s overall security posture and the likelihood that their employees and customers will fall victim to fraud. Consumer registrars have been attacked repeatedly over the past few years and fail to provide the security controls needed to protect customers’ vital domain names from domain and DNS threats. Additionally, many consumer-grade registrars offer services such as name spinning and domain auctioning that promote the registration of confusingly similar names that not only infringe established trademarks, but are often used for phishing and other fraud-based attacks,” said Mark Calandra, president of CSC’s Digital Brand Services. “As a result, these registrars are monetizing the goodwill of the trademark owners they have worked hard to achieve, creating a revenue stream for themselves rather than serving the interests of corporate clients who use their platforms. We believe that industry should follow best practice standards to prevent growing brand abuse and consumer safety issues to ensure a safer digital economy.

Domain security hygiene remains an overlooked risk management component of business operations and an organization’s overall security posture. CSC conducts an annual assessment of domain security practices among the Global Forbes 2000. Through a cross-evaluation of the most recent report and CISA’s 16 critical infrastructure industry categories, food and agriculture and critical manufacturing are two industries with the lowest area safety health and minimal year-over-year improvements.
